FAQs

Q: What is Micoblading?

A:  Microblading is the artistic, semi-permanent form of eyebrow makeup that originated in Asia.  The simulated hair strokes are placed in a realistic hair growth pattern that mimics your own.  My art is performed with a top of the line stylus microblading tool. Unlike traditional tattooing, which uses a machine, microblading artists hand draw each hair to match the color, growth pattern and coarseness of your eyebrows. The result? Beautiful, flawless, natural looking eyebrows.

Q:  How long does Microblading last?

A:  Microbladed eyebrows last 18 months to 2 years.  At this point, when you feel ready you will need to schedule a color boost appointment.   Once they are healed, for longevity please wear sun block and avoid enzymatic, retinol and glycolic products on the treated area.

Q:  What is the difference between Microblading and traditional body tattoos?

A:  The purpose of cosmetic tattooing is to enhance the natural features of a client. Microblading is softer, more subtle and natural-looking. Body tattoos use ink while microblading procedures involve pigments. These pigments are designed to gently fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows the artist to make changes to color and shape over the years as client’s natural coloration and facial changes occur.

Q:  Does it hurt?

A:   A topical anesthetic is applied before the procedure in order to ensure maximum comfort.  This is typically 5% Lidocaine Cream.

Q:  How long is the appointment?

A:  Microblading takes 2-3 hours.   This process includes time for anesthetic, paper work, before pictures, mapping, designing, and brow measurements.  Then concluded with the actual microblading artistry.  Next we will take after pictures.   Lastly, we will go over aftercare verbally, the written aftercare protocal document will go home with you.

Q:  Will we decide on the brow design and shape together?

A:  Most definitely!  It is so important to me we are working together to design and map out the shape that suits your bone structure  and facial features best!  Please come in with your everyday brow make-up on, this way I can see how you like to wear them!

Q:How should I prepare for my appointment?

A:   It is very important to avoid any blood thinning medications at least 72 hours prior to your appointment.  This includes Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Niacin, and fish oil supplements.

Refrain from using Retinal or Retin-A for at least two weeks prior to service.

– Avoid Alcohol for 24-48 hours of your appointment!!  This thins the blood and the pigment will not hold as well when healing.

– Please do avoid tanning bed and sun exposure for 4 weeks before and after your appointment.  When your skin heals and stuffs off you will loose most of the pigment as well.  If you come to your appointment with a fresh tan or sunburn, you will be forced to forfeit your appointment and will be charged 50% of the service cost.

Q:  What is the aftercare?

A:  Use aquaphor for 10 days after procedure.  Apply aquaphor 3 to 4 times a day.   After 3 days you may wash them gently with a fragrance free cleanser (CeraVe) and water.  No underwater swimming for 4 weeks.  Limit sun exposure even after they are healed.  Wear a hat when you are exposed to sunlight. Keep your hair off of your brows during healing process.  We highly recommend refraining from smoking as this depletes vitamin C in the skin and prolongs healing.

Q.  Who is ineligible for Microblading?

A.  We do not provide microblading for people: under 18 years old, pregnant or nursing, if you have diabetes, glaucoma, skin diseases such as Shingles, psoriasis or eczema on the area of treatment, allergies to makeup, Keloid disorder, HIV/Hepatitis, skin cancer, hemophilia, or if you’re taking skin medications like accutane and/or steroids.

Q:  What is the timeframe for healing after Microblading?

A:  After microblading it will take 6- 8 weeks to be completely healed.

Q:  What will my brows look like during the healing process?

A:  Directly after your service is how your brows will look once they are healed.  With in two hours the pigment will begin to oxidize, therefore turning darker.  At the two week point your eyebrows will have lightened and softened.  Continue to follow after care precisely for optimum results.

Q:  Can I work out or sweat?

A:  Please refrain from hot yoga, sauna and the steam room.  Workouts that create a lot of sweat should be stopped for 1 week.  Light workouts are fine after one week.

Q:  How soon should I schedule my touch-up appointment?

A:  Touch-up appointments must be scheduled 6-8 weeks from initial appointment.  It is highly recommend to make your appointment during your initial visit due to booking far out in advance.

Q:  Will I still need to wax and tweeze my brows?

A:  Yes. Your hair will continue to grow; you will still need wax or tweeze any unwanted hair.

Q:  Can I wear make-up after microblading?

A:  Please refrain from wearing brow make-up for about 4 weeks.  Foundation, concealer and eye make-up is fine to wear as long as it is applied with sanitized brushes or fingertips!

Q:  How soon after Microblading can I tint my brows?
